Spain is the country with the most vineyards in the world, so it has a very close relationship with grapes.
I chose grapes as an ingredient for two reasons:
- The polyphenols such as resveratrol found in the grape skin, and AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) found in the seeds.
- The vines synthesize resveratrol when infected by parasites or when facing any other type of external aggression. This neutralizes the action of free radicals generated by light, pollution, smoke and other external agents.
Resveratrol is fifty times more antioxidant than vitamin E and thirty times more antioxidant than vitamin C.
In the same way that the plant produces resveratrol to protect itself from external agents, introducing this active ingredient into the formula does the same for our skin.
I also use parda grape seeds to obtain AHAs such as tartaric acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid and citric acid. These have a natural peeling effect on the skin, removing the first dead layer. This reduces age wrinkles by reducing their depth.
So resveratrol protects the skin from external agents, especially from the effects of light, which reduces signs of ageing, while at the same time alpha hydroxy acids remove dead skin.
It is a gift from nature – a versatile ingredient we could not omit from this incredible formula.
