Luminosity

Nacre (also known as mother of pearl), is the substance that gives the outer layer of pearls their satin gleam. Often used as a powder, this natural marine ingredient has been used in cosmetics for over 2,000 years. Its properties come from its richness in calcium and important amino acids.

Black Tahitian are recognized as symbols of elegance across the globe.

The regenerative power of nacre can be seen in nature; it is secreted by oysters to heal the inside of their damaged shells.
These healing qualities have led to its widespread use in cosmetics, creams and natural soaps.

The most renowned black pearls come from the black-lipped oyster (Pinctada margaritifera). This large mollusk can grow to be 25cm long and 5 kilos in weight, but despite its size it is very fragile and has a high mortality rate.

Tahitian pearls are world famous for their intoxicating beauty and size.

In nature, only one oyster in every 15,000 will produce a black pearl.

As well as having exfoliating properties, nacre helps to control melanin formation and the emergence of future blemishes. Recent research has shown that pearls contain many amino acids and trace elements which nourish, soften and moisturize the skin.
